The Stealth Leopard Crawl 

A low-to-the-ground crawling activity where your child turns their head towards their reaching hand.

 

HOW LONG

2–3 lengths across a rug.
Let your child move at a comfortable pace and take breaks when needed.

MAKE IT PLAYFUL

Imagine you're on a sneaky spy mission or moving like a quiet leopard across the floor.

WHEN TO STOP

Stop if your child experiences pain, dizziness, discomfort or distress.

What to Notice

  • Head and hand movement:
    Does your child turn their head towards the reaching hand?
  • Whole-body movement:
    Are their head, arms and body moving together as they crawl?
  • Both sides:
    Are they using both sides of their body as they move?
  • Comfort:
    Does your child remain comfortable while crawling?

What to Practise 

  • Head and hand coordination:
    Practise turning the head towards the hand reaching forward.
  • Whole-body movement:
    Practise coordinating the body during crawling.
  • Both sides of the body:
    Practise using both sides as your child moves.
